Tsunami Hope Walks

On May 8th, a psychic acquaintance told me that I'd become involved with a charity helping victims of Boxing Day's tsunami. That would be nice, I thought. Nonetheless, I was surprised when I was contacted on May 13th by Mark Jones, who's set up the website for the Tsunami Hope Tidal Wave Orphans Charity Walks. These will take place in Worcester on July 16th, 2005 and in Boscastle on September 17th, 2005. They are using one of my photos of the Worcester 2000 floods on their website. Any offers of sponsorship are more than welcome. See you at the Worcester walk.

To Suzie

I did not choose to fall for you
Love caught me unawares
And now no matter what I do
All I receive are your glares

I was placed in an impossible situation
By your well-meaning friend
And it's brought us dislocation
Our closeness to an end

Yet my love for you is strong
It's very deep and sincere
And for you I'll always long
Even though we're no longer near

My heart will always race
Whenever I think of you
And now I'll never kiss your face
I don't know what to do

I never meant you any hurt
You must know that for sure
But now you're treating me like dirt
Which hurts me to the core

I wish you could forgive
And end all your rejection
Life's far too short to live
Without our love and affection

I would have given you all of me
My heart, mind, body, and soul
But it seems that's not to be
And I'm falling into this hole

Can we not make up and regain
The closeness we once had
Putting an end to our pain
And banishing all that's sad?

Don't panic, folks, we're friends again.

Fear

Fear of being burnt
Keeps our hands from the fire
But why have we learnt
To fear our heart's desire?

Rollright Stones, April 30th

Me in the sun

It was a glorious Spring Bank Holiday saturday. Thanks Suzie for insisting that I get someone to take my pic while I was there. The Firefox t-shirt was a "thank you" gift from the Mozilla Foundation for my contributions to the project. Not that they've amounted to much. It's nice to be appreciated.

It's an old photo, but I like it.
