Online Love
I look for you when I get online
Wondering if you'll ever be mine
You are, and my heart skips a beat
I really can't wait until we meet
Will we fall into each other's arms and say
"I've loved you since the very first day"?
Or is this all a cruel delusion
And our romance merely an illusion?
No it's not, it can't be so
I'll hold you tight and won't let go
We'll sit and eat carrot cake by the river
Our first kiss sending an almighty shiver
Right through us, from head to toe
A hint of what we've yet to know
The union of mind, body, and soul
Will we achieve this ultimate goal?
Today I was supposed to meet my online sweetheart for the first time, but circumstances beyond our control have delayed that first meeting. This poem's based on the conversation we had online last night.
Suzie and I finally met for the first time in early June. She was more than worth the wait.
